Traditional Chinese Flame cupping

WHAT IS TRADITIONAL CUPPING THERAPY?

(Traditional Chinese: treats specific internal disorders using meridian points.)

Traditional Chinese Flame Cupping is a traditional form of healing, which can be traced back to ancient Chinese, Egyptian and Middle Eastern cultures. The technique is even described in one of the oldest medical textbooks in the world, and has been traced back to the Ancient Egyptians, whom may have been using cupping therapy as early as 1550 B.C. and has been used every century since then.

Cupping is based on the belief that certain health problems can be caused by stagnant blood and a poor energy flow through your body. To reduce or prevent those health issues, cupping practitioners apply cups, typically glass, to your skin to create a pressure that sucks your skin inward. The pressure that the cups create draws blood to the affected area, increasing your blood flow overall.

Cupping increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed. This may relieve muscle tension, which can improve overall blood flow and promote cell repair. It may also help form new connective tissues and create new blood vessels in the tissue.

Cupping therapy is based on the meridian theory of the body.

·       Traditional cupping parks the cups along the meridian pathways following a strategic placement, however traditional forms leave large round bruises marks.

·       As cups are strategically placed on meridian lines they assist in removing the energy blockages acting as barriers to the flow of qi or body energy.

·       Traditional cupping therapies use vacuumed cups combining with compression and negative pressure applied to the area being treated.

·       Cupping therapy is known to help activate the lymphatic system, promote blood circulation and is good for deep tissue repair.

·       It also helps rejuvenating certain meridians and organs that are not functioning at their best.

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER CUPPING?

After the cupping, your skin may appear to have red circular marks. It’s important to understand that this is not bruises and it will not hurt. However, there is a common assumption that cupping marks are bruises. As cupping therapy cause no compression or impact trauma when it done correctly, the cupping process lifts your skin and tissue in order to increase blood circulation and release toxins in the body. Which means the darker the mark, the more stagnant fluids (toxins, blood and lymph)
